Dreamed, designed and finally built by us with the help of a local bricklayer between 2002 and 2008. Built in its entirety with careful thought of the local surroundings and environment; using the stone, beams and timber recovered from the ruins of the old barn. It was our family’s summer residence, in a beautiful setting, on the edge of the magnificent village of Valditacca. Our home is a warm and welcoming place. It will serve perfectly as a base camp to those who love unforgettable excursions, enjoying the pristine beauty and peace of the local mountains and nature, untouched by mass tourism.

Valditacca (1010 m above sea level), one of thirteen hamlets in the municipality of Monchio delle Corti, located in the upper Parma valley. It is situated within the Parco dei cento Laghi (Park of One Hundred Lakes), around 60 km from the gulf of La Spezia and the Parco delle 5 Terre (Liguria) and 70 km from Versilia (Tuscany). These places are reachable in about one hour by car. Charming woods of Beech trees surround the village, where you will be able to enjoy enchanting walks and, depending on the period, have the possibility to find and pick Porcini mushrooms and chestnuts. Reachable on foot, with a backpack on your shoulder and along the most beautiful trails in the valley, the ridgeline that divides the regions of Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany stands out in its immensity, just beyond the edge of the woods. From this beautiful vantage point, you will be offered a breathtaking view of the Gulf of La Spezia and, on a clear day, all of the major islands.
